Chandigarh The Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) has constituted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) following the order of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in the murder of relatives of Indian cricketer Suresh Raina. Raina’s foe, Ashok Kumar, died on the day of the incident while his son Kaushal suffered serious injuries and died on Monday.
Ashok Kumar’s wife, Raina’s aunt Asha Rani, is still in critical condition.
According to DGP Dinkar Gupta, preliminary investigation has revealed that the attack was carried out by a criminal gang who usually carry out their work along the Punjab-Himachal Pradesh border. The SIT has been asked to investigate every possible angle.
A special team has also been called from the Crime Control Branch to investigate the matter 24 hours.
An interstate search operation was conducted to nab suspected criminals involved in similar crimes and about 35 people are in the eyes of the police.
Some people from Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have been identified as suspects and their mobiles and where were those people are being investigated.
Police have raided Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Amritsar with the help of local police.
At the same time, six laborers working with Ashok Kumar are also being questioned.
Information about the crime scene and surrounding places has been given for technical testing so that suspicious things can be investigated. According to the DGP, CCTV footage of the area leading to the crime, the army and BSF are also being investigated.
So far, the investigation has revealed that the intention of the robbers was to loot three other houses besides this house.
Similar old cases are being investigated and it is being ascertained whether the people suspected of those cases are in jail.
Giving information about the SIT, the DGP said that it is headed by SPS Parmar IGP Border Range, Amritsar, while SSP Pathankot Gulneet Singh Khurana, SP Investigation Pathankot Prabhjot Singh Virk and DSP Dhar Kalan (Pathankot), Ravindra Singh are also involved. Huh.
