Lucknow . The state government is in the mood to postpone the panchayat elections due to the Corona crisis. Government sources are saying that the Panchayat elections are expected to be held in 2021. The government is seriously considering this. Will soon make a decision and inform the State Election Commission. State Panchayat Raj Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary said that the preparations for the elections should be done in the Corona era. In view of the prevailing circumstances, the entire government is engaged in dealing with the Corona crisis. Preparations for the election have not been completed yet. “We need at least 6 months to get it done right now. It will be seen when conditions are normal.”
At the same time, a government official said that the government is seriously considering the matter. A decision will be taken towards the government soon. Since the government has not been prepared yet due to Corona, there is a strong possibility of avoiding it.
It should be known that from March 25, after the lockdown, all the work stopped for about two months. After this, all are engaged in preventing corona infection in the district. It also includes Panchayati Raj Department. Due to this, neither the voter list has been revisited nor the panchayats have been delimited. Many panchayats have become part of the municipal corporation. In such a situation, it is difficult for the government to get elections now.
