New Delhi / Islamabad. The central government on Thursday warned Pakistan to desist from inciting communal tensions in India through its inflammatory statements.
Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
In response to media queries on the issue, External Affairs Ministry official spokesperson Anurag Shrivastava said on Thursday, “We have seen statements made by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the press on an internal matter of India.”
The spokesman issued a warning to Pakistan that it should desist from interfering in India’s affairs and avoid communal instigation.
“This stance of a nation promoting cross-border terrorism and denying minorities their religious rights is not surprising. Such comments are extremely regrettable,” he said.
The government of Pakistan, led by Imran Khan, in an official statement on Wednesday claimed that the historic Babri Masjid stood at the place where the Ram temple is being built, for nearly five centuries.
Describing the decision of the Indian Supreme Court that cleared the way for temple construction as flawed, Islamabad said that it has not only revealed the predominance of faith over justice, but also the growing majoritarianism in today’s India, where minority, Especially Muslims and their shrines are falling victim to attacks.
Imran Khan Sarkar said, “The construction of the temple in place of a historic mosque will remain a blot on the face of so-called Indian democracy for the coming time. The scene of the demolition of Babri Masjid by BJP and its affiliated extremist Hindu organizations in 1992 Are fresh in the minds of Muslims all over. ”
The statement said that since then the OIC has passed several resolutions condemning the heinous act of demolishing the centuries-old mosque.
