Washington. US President Donald Trump has said that he will ban the Chinese app TicTalk in the country by Saturday through an executive order. This has been revealed in media reports. Speaking to reporters at Airforce One on Friday, the president said, “As far as Tittock is concerned, we are going to ban it in America.”
According to the news website’s report, Trump said he could use emergency economic powers or executive orders to halt the company’s service in the US until as early as Saturday.
He has not been in favor of allowing Ticketock to be acquired by the American company, pointing out that the president said, “I have this right. I can do so through an executive order.”
Trump’s announcement came hours after reports that Microsoft was in talks to buy TickTock from Beijing-based company Bytdance.
