new Delhi. The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been announced. The Board of Control for Cricket in India, ie BCCI, has informed that IPL 2020 will be played in UAE from 19 September to 8 November. However, the schedule of this season of IPL is not yet finalized, for which the meeting of the Governing Council of IPL and BCCI is to be held on 2 August. In this meeting, apart from the IPL schedule, many other things related to the league will also be discussed.
Regarding this meeting through video conferencing, a BCCI official has said, “We are having a meeting of the IPL Governing Council on August 2 and major issues related to the league will be discussed in this meeting.” The IPL was to be held this year from March 29, but the league was postponed indefinitely due to the corona epidemic, but now IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has stated that the league will be held in the UAE from 19 September.
Places, dates and other quarantine measures will be discussed at the IPL Governing Council meeting. League chairman Brijesh Patel and senior BCCI officials will also have to go to UAE for IPL preparations, as they will be there during the entire tournament. Apart from these, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jai Shah are also expected to organize the tournament and join this conferencing. Although the tenure of both of them ended, they could get relief due to the matter being in the Supreme Court.
On the other hand, on Monday, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) revealed that it has received a Letter of Intent from BCCI to host IPL in UAE. The IPL chairman has made it clear that now the ECB and BCCI will start preparations for the IPL.
