Mumbai: The Sensex (Sensex) opened more than 300 points on Friday due to a sell-off in global markets and losses in stocks of financial companies. The 30-share BSE Sensex gained 307.31 points or 0.81 per cent to 37,833.16 points in early trade. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was trading at 11,132.35 points with a loss of 83.10 points or 0.74 percent.
Among the Sensex companies, HDFC shares declined by almost two per cent. Axis Bank, Asian Paints, SBI, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, IndusInd Bank and HDFC Bank were the other losers. On the other hand, Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, Tech Mahindra and Infosys were the major gainers.
