Sources said that the issue of border dispute between India and China also came up in the talks between the two defense ministers.
He said that during the talks, there was a discussion on speeding up the process of purchase of various weapons and equipment by Israel from India. Sources said Singh apprised Gantz about the major reforms initiated by India in the defense manufacturing sector and called for a wider partnership with Indian companies in the development of weapons and military equipment. This will help not only the two countries but also the wider humanity,” the statement said, adding that Singh had liberalized foreign direct investment in defense manufacturing. It also called for extensive participation of Israel’s defense companies under the Nivedesh system. “The two ministers also shared views on regional developments, with the Israeli Defense Minister also agreeing to Singh’s invitation to visit India soon,” the statement said.
