New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday met senior BJP leader LK Advani (Veteran BJP leader LK Advani). The meeting between the two lasted about half an hour. Significantly, in the Babri demolition case, Advani has to appear before the special court on July 24 in July. Significantly, the CBI special court has fixed July 24 for recording the statement of former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani.
Special Judge SK Yadav said in his order that the statement of former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani under Section 313 of Criminal Procedure Code will be recorded on July 24. This statement of 92-year-old Advani will be recorded through video conferencing. The judge in his order fixed July 23 as the date for recording the statement of another senior BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi. The court has fixed July 22 for recording the statement of another accused in the case, Satish Pradhan.
The special court on Monday recorded the statement of accused Sudhir Kakad, he appeared in court in person. However, he had earlier expressed his desire to record the statement through video conferencing. Kakkar also accused himself of being innocent and alleged that the then central government of Congress had framed him with a sense of political vendetta in the matter.
The court on Tuesday will record the statement of another accused in the case, Ramchandra Khatri.
Special CBI court is recording statements of 32 accused in Babri Masjid demolition case these days. She is hearing the case daily in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directive to complete the hearing of the case by 31 August.
