new Delhi. The price of diesel rose again on Friday, but the price of petrol remained stable for the 18th consecutive day. In the country’s capital Delhi, the price of diesel has again increased by 17 paise per liter. Diesel prices in Kolkata and Mumbai have increased by 16 paise while in Chennai by 15 paise per liter. Oil marketing companies did not make any change in diesel prices on Thursday, a day earlier. The price of diesel has increased by 92 paise per liter more than petrol in Delhi.
According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai remained at Rs 80.43, Rs 82.10, Rs 87.19 and Rs 83.63 per liter respectively for the 18th consecutive day.
The price of diesel in all the four metros increased to Rs 81.35, Rs 76.49, Rs 79.56 and Rs 78.37 per liter respectively.
On the other hand, crude oil was trading at a steady level in the international market although Brent crude remained above $ 43 per barrel and WTI above $ 40 per barrel.
International Futures Market Intercontinental Exchange; The September futures contract for Brent crude, the benchmark crude oil on ICE, was trading at $ 43.30 a barrel, down 0.07 percent from the previous session.
New York Mercantile Exchange; American Light Crude West Texas Intermediate at Nymax; WTI’s August futures contract was trading at $ 40.87 a barrel, down 0.05 percent from the previous session.
