new Delhi. Petrol prices remained stable for the 17th consecutive day on Thursday. There has also been no change in the price of diesel after a day’s hike. On the other hand, in the international market, crude oil was trading softly, while Brent crude price remained above $ 43 per barrel and WTI remained above $ 40 per barrel.
According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai remained unchanged for the 17th consecutive day at Rs 80.43, Rs 82.10, Rs 87.19 and Rs 83.63 per liter respectively.
Diesel prices in the four metros also remained unchanged at Rs 81.13, Rs 76.33, Rs 79.40 and Rs 78.22 per liter respectively on Thursday. Oil marketing companies had raised the price of diesel by 13 paise in Delhi, 16 paise in Kolkata, 13 paise in Mumbai and 11 paise in Chennai a day earlier.
In the National Capital Region, diesel costs 75 paisa a liter more than petrol.
Brent crude, the benchmark crude oil on the international futures market Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), was trading at $ 43.54 a barrel, down 0.57 percent from its previous session on Thursday in the September futures contract.
At the same time, the US light crude West Texas Intermediate (WTI) August futures contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NIMAX) was trading at $ 40.17 a barrel, down 0.75 percent from the previous session.
