new Delhi. Former England batsman David Gover has said that the secret of Rohit Sharma’s success in international cricket is to remain at the crease for a long time. Gover said that Rohit plays quite beautifully but if he does not last long at the crease, then none of these things matter.
“Mahela Jayawardene or anyone who plays quite beautifully – you don’t get to see that beauty if they don’t stay at the crease. The great truth of cricket is that you can score runs only when you are at the crease,” wrote Gover. “So Rohit would have to be at the crease. I had to be at the crease. Mahela had to be at the crease. The great players of all time, whatever their style or beauty of batting, had to be at the crease.”
He said, “Right now we are seeing Rohit’s talent all the time because he is scoring a lot of runs. All you need is dedication, technique, calmness and concentration – all of this you should spend time at the crease for a long time.”
