new Delhi. The industrial body Assocham on Tuesday demanded that petroleum products and real estate be brought under the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
According to Deepak Sood, General Secretary, Assocham, states should be consulted to bring petroleum products and real estate under the purview of GST.
Currently, the GST Council can take a decision on this issue.
Sood said, “Assocham has been advocating one nation one tax for petroleum products and real estate.”
He said, “States should be taken into consideration, because this step will help the country immensely by increasing consumption demand and making investment in real estate sector beneficial”.
Sood said, “Major economic hubs like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad are grappling with a growing number of Kovid-19 cases. Even after unlocking the economy, many states continue to ban, doubling public health emergencies Forcing pressures are mainly or partially discontinued commercial activities. ”
He has said, “This is putting a lot of financial pressure on the government and businessmen. It has come down to half in lieu of a monthly GST collection of Rs 1 lakh crore.”
