Maharajganj. A tragic road accident took place on Sunday night around 9.30 pm on Gorakhpur-Maharajganj road of Sadar Kotwali police station area. A speeding truck hit a bike near Baikunthpur Power House, killing two bike riders, while a young woman was seriously injured.
The deceased have been identified as Mithilesh (resident of Darauli Tola Ajmatpur of Sadar Kotwali) and Gangesh Sharma (resident of Sanda Khurd of Kothibar police station area). At the same time, the injured girl Ankita, resident of Khamhaura of Nichlaul police station area, is undergoing treatment at the district hospital. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the police reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital, where doctors declared Mithilesh and Gangesh dead.
According to the relatives who reached the district hospital, Mithilesh was going from Shikarpur to Maharajganj with his friend Gangesh and relative Ankita. They had left with food for another relative admitted in the district hospital. As soon as their bike reached near Baikunthpur Power House, a speeding truck hit them.
After this tragic accident, there was chaos among the relatives of the deceased. The relatives who reached the hospital are in a bad state due to crying. Police has taken the truck into custody and started further action.
Sadar Kotwal Satyendra Kumar Rai said that the injured were immediately taken to the hospital, but Mithilesh and Gangesh could not be saved. Ankita’s condition remains critical and her treatment is going on. Police is investigating the matter.
Uncontrolled trailer broke the high mast lamp and entered the shop
In the morning, a trailer went out of control and entered a sweet shop at Samardhira intersection of Purandarpur police station area. During this, the high mast installed fell down. On Sunday morning, an uncontrolled trailer coming from Raghunathpur at Samardhira intersection entered a sweet shop located at the intersection while trying to save a passerby. Due to the collision, the high mast installed to illuminate the intersection broke and fell on the electricity wire.
