Police arrested four criminals of Lavi gang who used to kidnap film stars from Mumbai on the pretext of events and extort money from them and sent them to jail. However, the gang leader Lavi is still absconding with his five companions. Exposing the gang, Bijnor SP Abhishek Jha said that Sarthak alias Ricky Chaudhary, arrested in Mushtaq Khan and Sunil Pal kidnapping and extortion, told that gang leader Lavi also wanted to book film actor Shakti Kapoor on the pretext of an event.
Shakti Kapoor demanded a fee of five lakh rupees and asked for all the money in advance as token money, but the gang refused. The gang dropped the target Shakti Kapoor and called another film actor Rajesh Puri to Delhi airport on September 8 by sending thirty-five thousand rupees in advance and a flight ticket. They put Rajesh Puri in the car and left on Meerut Highway.
