An FIR has been registered in the case of a car falling into a river from a bridge in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The police have registered a case against four engineers of the PWD department. Apart from these, the police have also included 5 others in the FIR. Three people died in the accident, after which the administration has taken this step. It was being told that the car drivers were driving by looking at the route from Google Maps. Despite the bridge being broken, there was no signboard or barrier of any kind there, which is a big negligence.
The police have made the engineers of the PWD department accused in the case of a car falling into the Ramganga river and the death of 3 people. Apart from them, an FIR has been filed against 5 others as well. The police have registered an FIR against Assistant Engineers Mohammad Arif and Abhishek Kumar, Junior Engineers Ajay Gangwar and Maharaj Singh. Naib Tehsildar Chhaviram has filed this FIR on behalf of the Badaun administration.
What is in the FIR?
In the FIR lodged by Naib Tehsildar Chhavi Ram in Dataganj police station of Badaun, 2 assistant engineers and 2 junior engineers of PWD department have been named. Apart from these, 5 others have also been named in the FIR. Naib Tehsildar Chhavi Ram has said that the PWD department’s negligence was the reason behind the accident. He has written in the FIR that strong barricading, obstructions, reflectors were deliberately not installed on both sides of the bridge. There was no restriction on searching that route on Google Maps either. A case has been registered under section 105 of BNS.
What was the matter
The bridge on the Ramganga river between Badaun and Bareilly district was broken in the middle. The construction of the bridge was not complete and when the river flooded during the rainy season, the front part of the bridge was washed away in the river. However, this was the only route visible on Google Map. Due to which the car driver kept going straight and the speeding car suddenly fell into the river. After the accident, Bareilly’s Faridpur police and Badaun’s Dataganj police reached the spot. The car was pulled out with the help of a JCB.
