Greater Noida. The state government has approved the proposal of Vama Sundari Investment to set up a semi-conductor unit in the Yamuna Authority area. The company will set up the unit in the authority area in collaboration with Foxconn. Yamuna Authority has already given in-principle consent to the company on land allocation.
Many proposals have come for setting up a semi-conductor unit in the Yamuna Authority area. One of these proposals is also from Vama Sundari Investment. This proposal was put forward by the IT department in the cabinet meeting held on Monday. The cabinet has given its approval to it.
Vama Company will invest so many crores
The company will invest Rs 3706 crore to set up a semi-conductor unit in the authority area. This will provide direct employment to 3780 people.
What will be manufactured in the unit
240000 units of small panel driver IC, display integrated circuit will be manufactured in the unit. Yamuna Authority has already given in-principle approval for allotment of 50 acres of land in Sector 10 for setting up the unit.
This is how the investment will be made
The project will require 19 thousand KVA electricity and 2000 MLD water per day. The company will invest the entire amount in the unit in five years. An investment of Rs 479 crore will be made in the first year.
Keyans Semicon will set up the unit
It is known that Keyans Semicon Pvt. Ltd., Torque has also received a proposal for setting up a semi-conductor unit in Yamuna Authority area. The Authority has given in-principle approval for allotment of 50 acres of land in Sector 10 to Keyans Semicon Pvt. Ltd. An investment of Rs 4248 crore will be made in this.
Currently, four companies have invested Rs 150 lakh crore in the country
Currently, companies like Tata Elxsi Limited, Micron Technology, CG Power and Industrial, Keyence Semicon, Dixon Technologies (India) Limited, SPEL Semiconductor Limited, ASM Technologies Limited, Moschip Technologies Limited, HCL Technologies Limited and Ratansha International Rectifier Limited are associated with the chip industry.
Five units are being set up for chip production in the country. Two of these are Tata Electronics, one Micron Technology, one CG Power and Industrial and one Keyence. All four companies will invest around Rs 150 lakh crore.
The target is to manufacture seven crore chips annually. The newly announced Keyence Semicon plant, which will be built in Sanand, Gujarat, will manufacture 63 lakh chips annually. There are still many challenges for the chip industry in India.
