A shocking incident has come to light from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. A controversial banner has been put up in Balaji temple located in Sadar Bazar here. In this banner, women have been appealed to identify the people applying mehndi during festivals and not to apply mehndi without identification. Such banners have been put up at many places in the city and it is being told that such banners are going to be put up in many other parts of the city for which about 250 more banners have been prepared.
In the posh market of Meerut, some young men and women were sitting outside the shops to apply mehndi so that women wishing to apply mehndi during festivals and wedding season can easily get mehndi applied. Many such youths sit in many areas of Meerut like Abulen, Sadar, Central Market, Shastri Nagar. It is believed that most of the people are from other communities, in such a situation, it has been said in this banner that women should ask the identity of the people before applying mehndi.
What did the Mahant of Balaji temple say?
Mahant Mahendra Das of Balaji temple of Sadar police station area has mentioned the spitting and urine incident in the banner and has asked people of other communities not to apply mehendi. This banner has been put up at many places in the city. Mahant Mahendra Das of Balaji temple said that this appeal has been made for the safety and respect of women. He said that before applying mehendi, it is necessary to check the identity and background of the person applying it.
And 250 banners are being prepared
Mahant Mahendra Das of Balaji temple said that such 250 posters are being prepared which will be put up in many areas of the city and at present these banners have also been put up in the Ramlila going on in Bhaisali ground of Cantt. Mahant Mahendra Das has said that banners and posters have also been put up in the Kali temple of Sadar Bazar and their purpose is that people of other communities should not apply mehendi and people of our own community should apply mehendi. If the people around are to be believed, they say that no one should hide their identity, they should reveal their identity. On the other hand, shopkeepers are also being told not to employ people from other communities.
