Varanasi. Sai’s idol will not remain in the temples of Kashi. After this campaign run by Sanatan Rakshak Sena, Sai’s idols were removed from 14 temples in the last three days. The Sena has prepared a list of 28 Sanatan temples of Kashi where Sai’s idols are present.
Sena’s patron Ajay Sharma said that there is no opposition to Sai worship. Whoever has faith, wherever he is, can worship but Sai’s idol will not be allowed to remain in the temples of Sanatan Dharma. Sai was a Muslim, what work did he have in Hindu temples.
Ajay Sharma said that Shankaracharya (now Brahmalin) of Jyotishpeeth and Sharadapeeth Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati had also opposed the installation of Sai’s idols in Hindu temples and called his worship wrong. The Supreme Court had also called Sai a Muslim. He has no connection with Sanatan Dharma. Therefore, the Sena will no longer allow his idol to remain in Hindu temples.
He told that there was a statue of Sai in the famous ancient Bada Ganesh temple of Kashi, which was installed in 2013 next to Anandeshwar Mahadev in the back of the premises. Now it has been removed by asking the priest.
He said that there is no disrespect to anyone’s faith and neither is there any ill will towards Sai Baba. Hindus respect the religious beliefs of all sects and communities. Whoever wants to worship him can do so, build a separate temple for him, but he has no place in the centers of Sanatan faith.
