There was a stir after four bodies were found in the Ramganga Barrage in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. As soon as four bodies were seen floating in the Ganges, the people nearby immediately informed the police. The police, who reached the spot, first called divers and tried to remove the bodies, but due to high water flow, the four trapped bodies could not be removed. After that, the Bhamora police, with the help of NDRF, removed the bodies after 18 hours of hard work. According to the police, the bodies are eight days old. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem. However, the bodies have not been identified yet.
In fact, local people working in the fields saw 4 bodies stuck in the Ramganga Barrage. People informed the police about this. On receiving the information, Bhamora and Subhash Nagar and Cantt police reached the spot and divers were immediately called. Later it was found that the part of the barrage where the bodies are stuck, there is a lot of water flow there. Divers are facing difficulty in removing the bodies. Divers could not reach the bodies. Bhamora police station in-charge Pradeep Kumar Chaturvedi got the bodies out with the help of NDRF.
8 days old bodies
The NDRF team took out all the four bodies after 18 hours of hard work. According to the police, three bodies appear to be of women. Bhamora police has sent all the four bodies for post-mortem. According to the police, the bodies seem to be about 8 days old but none of them have been identified yet.
Possibility of being washed away in the strong current of water
The police suspect that the water level of Ramganga has increased due to the recent heavy rains and water has been released from the mountains. Due to this, the bodies have come floating from somewhere far away. The bodies seem to be 8 days old. Attempts were also made to identify the bodies from the people nearby but people refused to identify them.
Identification could not be done
Bhamora Inspector Pradeep Kumar Chaturvedi said that four bodies were taken out from Ramganga Dam on Tuesday at around 2 pm. He said that it appears that three bodies are of women, while one body is of a child. All four bodies have been sent for postmortem. Efforts are being made to identify them. Legal action will be taken after receiving the postmortem report.
