Kannauj. A major accident took place on Ghaziabad Kanpur Green Field Highway on Friday morning. A mini truck collided directly with a parked truck here. Four people died in this accident, while one person was seriously injured.
A driver going from Delhi to Kanpur parked his truck on the service road near Junedpur village of Gursahaiganj police station area at around 7 am on Friday. After this he slept in the cabin.
A mini truck coming from behind collided with a parked truck early Friday morning. Due to this, four people riding in the mini truck died. At the same time, a young man was injured. There was a stir on the spot after the accident.
The truck had run out of diesel
On Friday, near Junedpur cut under Majhpurwa outpost of Gurusahaiganj police station, the truck was going to Kolkata with leather loaded from Punjab at around 6 am. The vehicle owner Sukhwant Singh’s nephew Jaswinder Singh son Bayant Singh was also riding in the vehicle.
Due to the diesel running out in the container at the cut, the driver Jagdish Singh son of Buta Singh resident of village Sarawan police station Kotkapura district Faridkot Punjab parked the vehicle on the service road and was inquiring about the nearby petrol pumps from the passersby.
Meanwhile, the high speed DCM coming from behind rammed into the container due to the driver dozing off. Due to which four out of the five people riding the DCM died on the spot. One was seriously injured.
On receiving the information of the incident, Kotwali in-charge Gurusahayganj Alok Dubey, outpost in-charge Majhpurwa Shyam Pal Singh reached the spot with his companions and with the help of villagers and highway workers, the people trapped in the DCM cabin were taken out by crane and sent to the district hospital and the highway route was made smooth.
CO Sadar Kamlesh Kumar, who reached the spot, took information about the incident and gave necessary instructions to the subordinates.
