India defeated Sri Lanka in the third T20 match and won the series 3-0. Both the teams had scored 137 runs in the stipulated 20 overs in their respective innings, due to which the super-over was resorted to to bring the result. In the super over, India allowed Sri Lanka to score only 2 runs. At the same time, Team India ensured their victory on the very first ball of the super over. At one time, Sri Lanka had to score 30 runs in 30 balls to win, but India’s death bowling once again wreaked havoc.
Playing first, India scored 137 runs, in which Shubman Gill made a significant contribution by scoring 39 runs in 37 balls. Apart from him, Riyan Parag contributed 26 and Washington Sundar also contributed 25 runs. For Team India, captain Suryakumar Yadav and veteran Sanju Samson could not show anything special in this match, while Yashasvi Jaiswal was also out after scoring just 10 runs. When the Sri Lankan team came out to chase the target, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis gave the team a great start. There was an important partnership of 58 runs between the two.
The victory became easy for the Sri Lankan team when Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera took charge after Nissanka was out. The 52-run partnership between them pushed the Indian team on the backfoot, but in the 16th over, Ravi Bishnoi kept Team India’s hopes alive by taking the wicket of Kusal Mendis. In the next over, Washington Sundar gave a double blow by dismissing Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Aslanka on 2 consecutive balls.
Rinku Singh showed his amazing bowling
Rinku Singh is a batsman, but he made his bowling debut in the match against Sri Lanka. He took the wicket of Kusal Perera on the second ball of his career, who was playing set after scoring 46 runs. In the same over, he also took the wicket of Ramesh Mendis and brought India back into the match. Meanwhile, the last over was bowled by Suryakumar Yadav, who had to defend 6 runs in 6 balls. Suryakumar Yadav also took 2 wickets in 2 consecutive balls, but both teams remained equal till the last ball was bowled.

Sri Lanka came to bat first in the Super Over. Washington Sundar was bowling. 2 runs came on the first ball, but Kusal Perera got out on the second ball and Pathum Nissanka also got out on the very next ball. Therefore, India had to score only 3 runs to win. Suryakumar Yadav hit a four on the very first ball for India and gave the team victory.
