Lucknow. BJP’s Legislative Council member Devendra Pratap Singh has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding immediate withdrawal of the online attendance system.
He said that the officials are misleading the government. Recently, 85 employees were found absent in the Directorate General of School Education? Was the online attendance system implemented there? At the same time, he has also accused the officials of committing a scam in purchasing smart phones and tablets.
Teachers took out a march
Council schools’ teachers protested in all the districts on Monday against online attendance. After the school was closed at three o’clock in the afternoon, the teachers gathered at the District Basic Education Officer (BSA) offices and from there took out a march to the Collectorate. In their respective districts, a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister was handed over to the DM.
Boycott will continue
Teachers demanded half-time leave, casual leave and earned leave. At the same time, teachers met the Director General, School Education but no result came out. The boycott will continue for now. Teachers of council schools in all the districts of the state, under the banner of Shikshak, Shikshamitra, Instructor-Employee Joint Front, showed their strength by demonstrating vigorously.
Also look at the problems of teachers
Front conveners Anil Yadav and Santosh Tiwari have demanded that the system of online attendance be suspended immediately. Officers should not impose such a system just by sitting in an AC room. They should also look at the problems of teachers. Teachers reach schools from far-flung areas, it is not appropriate to deduct the entire day’s salary if there is a delay.
In such a situation, teachers should be given the facility of half leave, casual leave and earned leave. When called for talks by the Directorate General of School Education, the officials of the organization cited the demonstration and asked to first suspend the system, then they will talk. If the demands are not met, there will be a state-wide demonstration at the Directorate General on July 29.
Cannot give concrete assurance: Director General
On the other hand, the officials of Rashtriya Shikshak Mahasangh, Uttar Pradesh met Director General, School Education Kanchan Verma and handed over a 13-point demand letter to her. They demanded that they should be given the facility of 15 half leaves and 30 earned leaves etc. in a year. The Director General said that she cannot give them any concrete assurance right now. Their demand letter will be considered. In such a situation, the Federation has also announced to continue boycotting online attendance. Meanwhile, due to the absence of Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh from the capital, the Federation officials could not talk to him.
