Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that whether it is Kanwar Yatra or Muharram, everyone’s faith should be respected, but new traditions will not be allowed. He said that the holy month of Shravan is starting from 22 July.
During this period, Shravani Shivratri, Nagpanchami and Rakshabandhan festivals will be celebrated. Traditional Kanwar Yatra will be taken out. Therefore, taking lessons from the accidents that happened in the past years, this time permission should be given to play DJ only at the prescribed volume and its height should also not be too high.
The Chief Minister said in a meeting with officials at his official residence on Sunday that Jagannath Rath Yatra is from July 7 to 9, Moharram from July 7 and 8 to 17-18 and Guru Purnima is a holy occasion on July 21. Therefore, all the concerned departments should make preparations for it on time.
Control the volume and height of DJ
Apart from the districts bordering Uttarakhand, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Ayodhya, Bareilly, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Barabanki and Basti districts are important from the point of view of Kanwar Yatra. Kanwar Yatra is an event of enthusiasm of faith. Traditionally, dance, song, music have been a part of it.
He directed that the sound of DJ, song-music etc. should be as per the prescribed standards. The height of the DJ should not exceed a fixed limit. There should be no open sale and purchase of meat anywhere on the Kanwar Yatra route.
The Yatra route should be cleaned. There should be street lights. The dilapidated electric poles and hanging electric wires on the Yatra route should be repaired so that no accident occurs.
He said that during the month of Shravan, a large number of devotees visit the Shiva temples on Mondays. Therefore, the Panchayati Raj and Urban Development Department should ensure timely cleaning around the Shiva temples.
Naughty elements should be monitored and action should be taken against those who incite people of other communities. Verify those who set up Kanwar camps. Arrangements should also be made for monitoring through drones.
The height of the Tazia should be according to tradition
He said that the local administration should make arrangements in coordination with the committees associated with the Tazia and the peace committee that come out during the Muharram procession. Learning from the accidents that occurred at some places last year, this year the height of the Tazia should be kept as per the tradition; high Tazias should not be included in the procession.
The administration should provide necessary facilities to the common people, but no action should be taken against the tradition. There should not be any display of weapons in religious yatras and processions. Tazias should be kept only where there is no dispute of any kind.
