Uttar Pradesh Police is also fully alert regarding the counting of votes of Lok Sabha elections. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh’s acting Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar on Monday expressed apprehension that some kind of disturbance or breach of peace can occur during or after the counting of votes. He said that all the Police Commissioners, SSPs, SPs have been alerted by sending letters directly.
In the urgent circular of DGP, the district police has been asked to take many serious precautions. There were tense statements between the opposition and the ruling party regarding the counting, due to which the administration has become alert.
DGP alerted the police
It should be noted that candidates from different districts also made statements about the possibility of rigging. The DGP has asked the police to be cautious during and after the counting of votes. He said that he has evidence that some people are asking people to reach the counting centers in large numbers on June 4, i.e. today. He said that strict action will be taken against those who try to disturb the law and order.
Vijay procession not allowed
The DGP said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, the counting of votes will be done under CCTV surveillance. He also said that after the results, no victory procession will be allowed and if anyone violates the instructions, action will be taken. He said that no information of election-related violence has been received from anywhere during all the seven phases in the state. The DGP said that Section 144 is in force in all the districts.
