Chiluatal police has registered a case of riot and robbery against 38 people including the co-professor of BRD Medical College located in Gorakhpur district. The shopkeeper, who runs a medical store in the premises, had accused all these people of breaking into the shop three days ago, vandalizing, assaulting, looting and abusing caste. Action has been taken in the same case. The investigation of this entire incident has been handed over to the jurisdictional officer Campierganj.
Prashant Kumar, who runs a medical store in the BRD Medical College campus, told the Chiluatal police that he operates a shop at the north gate of the Medical College. Last Friday, at 11:30 in the day, someone had blocked the road and parked his scooter. I didn’t know whose scooter this was. When I raised my voice and asked to remove the scooter, Anil Sharma, co-professor of the pharmacology department of the medical college, was present nearby and he got angry.
Associate professor of medical college assaulted
Anil Sharma said that the scooter is mine, I will not remove it. Whether customers come to your shop or not. When I protested about this, he went away threatening that I will tell you right now. About half an hour later, Dr. Anil Sharma arrived with 38 medical students including Krishna Kumar, Anup Markande and started creating a disturbance. Everyone used caste based abuses at me. Vandalized the medical store. The employees were beaten badly. Two fridges, counters and racks kept in the shop were broken.
The employees somehow saved their lives by running here and there. While leaving, the accused took away around ₹ 22000 cash kept in the counter. My brother Piyush’s mobile was also in the shop, they also took it away. I was very scared due to such an incident and had to take shelter in the police. On the other hand, the doctors are angry due to this action, but they are scared after the case has been registered. Because, a few days ago, the police had registered a case in a similar case and also filed a charge sheet against the doctors.
Incident of assault and vandalism captured in CCTV
Because of this his career is at stake. Remembering that incident, the doctors are avoiding openly protesting because if the matter escalates further, it will increase the problems for them. On the other hand, the Medical College administration has also given an ultimatum that if anyone tries to spoil the health services, strict action will be taken against him. Not only this, the footage of whatever incident of assault and vandalism took place is available in CCTV. Before registering the case, the medicine sellers committee had met the Principal of the Medical College with the footage and informed him about the entire incident.
Investigation of the case handed over to CO Campierganj
Let us tell you that the employees of the medical college are also angry with the doctors. Because, last Friday itself, the doctors had vandalized the medical store and even slapped the concerned clerk when they protested. Due to this, the medical college employees were also protesting against these doctors. However, the Principal had hushed up the matter by ordering a departmental inquiry, so that the medical college would not be brought into disrepute. In such a situation, when a case has been registered against 38 doctors, now they are on the back foot thinking about their career. In this regard, SP North Jitendra Srivastava said that a case has been registered in the matter under relevant sections. The entire investigation has been handed over to CO Campierganj. Further action will be taken based on their report.
