After the death of mafia don Mukhtar Ansari, posting about him on social media proved costly for a UP Police constable. Taking cognizance of the post, Chandauli SP has suspended constable Aftab Alam. While posting pictures of Mukhtar’s funeral, Aftab addressed him as ‘Sir’.
It is noteworthy that on March 28, mafia Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda jail, had a heart attack and died during treatment. The next day on March 29, after post-mortem at Banda District Hospital, Mukhtar Ansari’s dead body was brought to his native village Ghazipur’s Mohammadabad and on the morning of March 30, Mukhtar’s body was buried in the ancestral graveyard of the Ansari family in Mohammadabad. At the time of Mukhtar Ansari’s funeral, hundreds of his supporters were also present in Mohammadabad.
Mukhtar Ansari is dead but people are still making all the videos and photos of Mukhtar Ansari’s last rites viral on social media. A constable named Aftab Alam posted in Chandauli Police Line of Uttar Pradesh also posted a post related to the death and funeral of Mukhtar Ansari on social media.
Aftab Alam, originally from Ballia, is currently posted in Chandauli Police Lines. Taking cognizance of the post made by Aftab Alam related to Mukhtar Ansari, on the instructions of Chandauli SP Dr. Anil Kumar, constable Aftab Alam, who posted on social media related to Mukhtar Ansari, has been suspended.
In the case, Additional SP Vinay Kumar Singh said that some objectionable material was posted on his Facebook wall by a policeman posted in Chandauli district. Which was a clear violation of Uttar Pradesh Police Social Media Policy 2023 and Government Employees Rules. Keeping this in view, departmental action has been taken by the Superintendent of Police by suspending the constable.
