The jail administration has sealed the belongings kept in barrack 16 of Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda jail. Jail sources said that the gate leading into the barrack has been locked. Also, like before, even today the security arrangements are being maintained properly, so that the investigation after his death is not affected.
ADM Finance and Revenue Rajesh Kumar and ACJM I Garima Singh have been deputed for judicial and magisterial investigation. Both the officers will reach the jail and investigate the belongings, utensils and documents kept in Mukhtar’s barrack. Also, an investigation report will be prepared after examining the CCTV installed in Mukhtar’s barrack for the last several days. Along with this, the statement of the jail administration will also be recorded.
The jail campus was inspected on Saturday
On Saturday, DM and SP along with the Judicial Judge of Banda had come to inspect the jail. Apart from the jail campus, he also checked the CCTV cameras of Mukhtar’s barrack. Then returned. After Mukhtar’s death, the prisoners in jail also appeared upset.
After coming from Ropar, he was being kept away from the prisoners.
It is said that before 2017, when Mukhtar was imprisoned here, he used to distribute fruits etc. to the prisoners after breaking the fast or during Navratri or other festivals. The prisoners used to greet and salute him. Then he used to answer them also. After returning to Banda from Ropar, he started being kept away from all the prisoners. Even when a video conferencing room was brought for the hearing, everyone was kept away from it. The deputy jailer used to bring him out of his barrack and take him away under tight security.
