Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, who is lodged in Sitapur jail in the case of making fake birth certificate of his son, has got a big relief in the Dungarpur case. MP-MLA Court of Rampur acquitted all the accused including Azam Khan in this case. Azam Khan was produced in the MP-MLA court on Thursday through video conferencing.
Actually, Asara houses were built in Dungarpur during the SP regime. Some people already had houses built at this place. The allegation was that it was demolished in the year 2016 after declaring it to be on government land. In this case the victims had also alleged robbery.
A case was registered against Azam Khan in 2019
In the year 2019, about a dozen different cases were registered in this matter in Ganj police station of Rampur. It was alleged that at the behest of Azam Khan in the SP government, the police and SP had forcibly vacated their houses to build shelter houses. The houses already built there were demolished by using bulldozers.
Hearing of 10 cases is still going on
According to the information, 13 cases are registered against Azam Khan in the Dungarpur incident. In two of these cases, the verdict has already come from the MP-MLA court of Rampur, in one of which he was acquitted, while in the other he was sentenced to seven years. Azam Khan was acquitted in another case on Thursday. Currently hearing is going on in 10 cases.
Was acquitted in a case on January 31
Let us tell you that in a case of Dungarpur case, the court had given its verdict on 31 January 2024. The court had acquitted Azam Khan. This case was registered on behalf of Ruby’s wife Karamat Ali. After the completion of the hearing, the court while giving its verdict had acquitted all the accused including Azam Khan.
Was sentenced to 7 years in this case
In the same case of Dungarpur case, the court had sentenced Azam Khan to one year imprisonment on March 18. The remaining culprits were sentenced to five years’ imprisonment. The court had declared Azam Khan guilty in this case under sections 427, 504, 506, 447 and 120B of IPC. Along with Azam Khan, former municipality chairman Azhar Ahmed Khan, contractor Barkat Ali, retired CO Aale Hasan were also found guilty.
