In fact, her husband, the BJP councilor of Sarayanandan ward of Bhelupur area of Varanasi, had to face the anger of the area since Sunday morning and the angry people took him hostage. The public was angry that the sewerage problem flowing in the area for the last 10 days was not being resolved.

The Bharatiya Janata Party mayor of Varanasi himself has taken cognizance of the matter and has also promised a quick solution. The matter pertains to ward number 51 Sarayanandan under Bhelupur police station area of Varanasi. Ashok Seth, husband of BJP councilor Rita Seth, had to face the anger of the people of the area when he was passing through the area. Despite a lot of persuasion, the angry public stopped him from moving forward and made him hostage.

People say that sewer water has been spread in the area for the last 10 days, but it was not being cleaned nor Was able to find a solution. When things did not work out even after complaining several times, today people’s patience broke and they took the husband of BJP woman councilor Rita Seth hostage by tying her with ropes.
People are troubled by sewer problems
During this, the angry public also raised slogans against the Jal Nigam and the Municipal Corporation. Councilor’s husband Ashok Seth, looking helpless, told that there is a sewer problem in his area for the last 10 days. Due to which diarrhea and other infectious diseases have already spread, but despite complaining about this several times to the Jal Nigam, Municipal Corporation and Ganga Pollution Board, no hearing has taken place. After this, the people of the area have taken him hostage and even after several hours have passed, he remains hostage among the hungry and thirsty people.
However, he said that he does not have any complaint against the public because their demand is legitimate. The councilor’s husband also assured that the problem would be solved soon, but the people of the area are not ready to listen to this and have kept him hostage.
Mayor took cognizance
Varanasi Mayor Ashok Tiwari said that this problem is in his cognizance and his councilors have been raising this problem for the last three-four months. But the pipeline of the area belongs to Jal Nigam and Ganga Pollution Board. Despite repeated requests, these departments were not paying attention. He told that the councilor representative has gone there and raised the issue and hopefully the work has started. He said that the Municipal Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation and the GM of the Jal Nigam have also been informed in this regard and action will also be taken against the guilty officials. Bharatiya Janata Party Mayor Ashok Tiwari himself termed this matter as gross negligence.
