Jewar: Due to dense fog on Yamuna Expressway in the early hours of Saturday, a private bus and four cars collided from behind with a container going from Noida to Agra. One person died and ten people were injured in the accident.
There was an outcry on the spot. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in the town. On receiving the information, police and relief and rescue team of Jaypee Infratech removed the vehicle from the expressway with the help of a crane and normalized the traffic. The police sent the body for autopsy.
Due to heavy fog near village Dayanatpur, 30 km from zero point on Yamuna Expressway, a private bus hit the container moving ahead from behind. After that, the WagonR car running behind the bus, the Fortuner and two other cars running behind it collided into each other from behind.
On information, police and expressway security personnel reached the spot. Pradeep, Ram, Saurabh and Rahul resident of Auraiya, Shivam and Ayesha wife of Farooq resident of Etawah, Yash Kumar resident of Mainpuri, Devendra resident of Kanpur, Pushpa wife of Saubharan resident of Kannauj, Satya Prakash resident of village Koyla Saraiya Etawah were seriously injured.
The police admitted the injured to Kailash Hospital in Jewar with the help of an ambulance. Where the doctors declared Satya Prakash dead. Minor injured Devendra, Saurabh Kashyap, Yash, Ayesha Begum, Ram and Shivam were discharged after first aid while Pradeep is undergoing treatment. Rahul was referred to Greater Noida in critical condition. ACP Jewar Praveen Kumar Singh said that the accident occurred due to excessive fog.
