In Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, a young man, hurt by the police, attempted self-immolation inside the SP office on Wednesday. The young man died during treatment. Angered by the death of the youth, the family members had blocked the road. SP Siddharth Meena has taken major action in this matter. He has removed Purva Circle Officer (CO) Deepak Kumar and SHO Suresh Kumar. The CO has been attached to the SP office.
Srichandra, a resident of Bholemau village of Purva police station in the district, had tried to commit suicide. He was admitted to the Medical College of Lucknow in critical condition for treatment. He died during treatment on Thursday night. Post mortem of the body was done on Friday. After the death of Srichand, in view of the tense situation in his village, heavy police force has been deployed there.
SP office was set on fire on Wednesday
On Wednesday, Srichandra, a resident of Bholemau village of Purva, made serious allegations against CO Purva and set himself on fire by spraying inflammable substance inside the SP office. The seriously injured youth was taken to the district hospital for treatment. Seeing his condition serious here, he was sent to KGMC Lucknow for better treatment. Where he died during treatment on Thursday night. The deceased had made serious allegations against the police regarding the land dispute.
Angry family members blocked Purva-Achalganj road
Angered by the death of the youth, the family members had blocked the Purva-Achalganj road. The family members were adamant on the demand for removal of CO Purva Deepak Kumar. Taking action in this matter, SP Siddharth Meena has attached CO Purva Deepak Kumar to the SP office. SHO Purva Suresh Kumar Singh has been removed and transferred to in-charge Writ Cell.
Police accused of harassment
The family of Srichandra, resident of Bhulemau village of Purva tehsil, was having a land dispute with a party in the village. Due to which the opposition party attacked Srichandra’s family on the evening of 18 October. In this case, the victim party had filed a case against the accused in Purva Kotwali. The victim’s side alleged that CO Deepak Kumar supported the accused by taking money and had removed the names of three people from the FIR in the investigation. Along with this, a cross FIR was written against Srichandra and his family on behalf of the accused.
