The body of a 9 year old child has been recovered in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh. This is the same child who was allegedly dragged into the forest by a leopard. His body has been recovered near Dharampur village of Sohelwa forest range.
Forest officer MB Singh said that this child named Sharif was returning to the village after grazing goats on Monday when a leopard attacked him and took him into the forest. He told that his body was found in a bush near the village.
District Magistrate Arvind Singh said that efforts are on to catch the predatory leopard and the forest department has already been instructed to catch it. He said that financial assistance will be provided to the victim’s family. Let us tell you that since last month, six children have died in leopard attacks in this area, after which panic has spread among the villagers.
Just three months ago, in Bijnor, UP, a leopard had attacked and killed a ten-year-old child. The leopard was dragging the child and when people raised an alarm, the leopard left the child and ran away. After this, the villagers immediately took the child to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
This incident took place in a village in Bijnor at around 8 pm. A 10 year old child was returning home from the shop. At that very moment the leopard attacked him. By the time the villagers saw and raised an alarm, the leopard had seriously injured the child.
