A shocking case has come to light in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, in which due to shortage of Rasgullas at a wedding ceremony, the situation became so bad that 6 people got seriously injured in the fight. The people injured in the fight have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
This incident took place in Shamsabad area of Fatehabad tehsil of Agra district. Shamsabad police station in-charge Anil Sharma told that there was a wedding ceremony at Brijbhan Kushwaha’s house. During this, someone commented about the shortage of Rasgulla. Due to that person’s comment, the dispute escalated so much that a fight broke out during the wedding ceremony and 6 people were injured.
According to the police, Bhagwan Devi, Yogesh, Manoj, Kailash, Dharmendra and Pawan were injured in this case. Actually, Shamsabad is a city located in Fatehabad tehsil of Agra district. Police have registered the case and started investigation. Let us tell you that in October last year, a person had died in a fight over lack of sweets at a wedding in Etmadpur.
A similar case came to light in 2014 in Kurmapur village of Kanpur Dehat. The marriage procession had come here from a village in Unnao. During the wedding, the groom’s cousin Manoj wanted to have two rasgullas in his plate. But someone from the girl’s side asked her to take only one Rasgulla. There was a dispute on this matter, and then a scuffle broke out.
The girl refused to marry
When the wedding procession of 25-year-old Shivkumar arrived on the evening of April 14, everything was going well. But then the marriage broke down due to the fight over Rasgulla. This dispute became so deep that there was a fight between the wedding guests and the gharatis. Meanwhile, the boy’s side also abused the girl’s father. And when the girl came to know about this incident, she refused to marry.
Police also failed to explain
After the incident, the village people and the local police tried to bring about reconciliation between the two parties, but this effort failed. However, after the incident, the girl’s father filed a complaint for dissolution of the marriage due to non-payment of a four-wheeler as dowry.
After the altercation, sticks were used
A wedding ceremony was being organized at the house of Brijbhan Kushwaha near Santoshi Mata Temple located on Nayawas Road. A feast was going on at the wedding ceremony. The other party, Manoj’s son Gaurishankar Sharma, had arrived to join the party along with three other people. During this time, there was an altercation over eating Rasgulla at the feast and within no time the altercation turned into a fight followed by abuses… There was fierce fighting and use of sticks from both sides. In the fight, Bhagwan Devi, wife of one party, Brijbhan Singh and Yogesh, son of Brijbhan Singh were left bleeding.
Controversy started after taking sarcasm
From the other party, Manoj and Kailash son of Gauri Shankar Sharma, Dharmendra son of Ramesh Sharma, Pawan son of Gauri Shankar were also seriously injured. Police reached the spot after getting information and sent the injured to the hospital for treatment. ACP Fatehabad Anand Kumar Pandey told that on the night of 11 November 2023, there was a wedding at Shivlu Kushwaha’s house in Gopalpura of Shamshabad police station, in which people were invited. One party took a dig at the other party over their demand for Rasgulla in the meal, which led to a fight between the two parties. All the injured were treated promptly.
