Amidst the controversy over Halal certification in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday banned the sale of Halal certified products, medicines, medical and cosmetic items in the state. According to the government order, action has been taken as per rules in case of manufacturing, storage, distribution and purchase and sale of products with Halal certification.
Actually, this matter came to light when Shailendra Kumar, a resident of Moti Jheel, Lucknow, had given a complaint in Hazratganj police station. In this it was said on their behalf that some companies like Halal India Private Limited Chennai, Jamiat Ulema Hind Halal Trust Delhi, Halal Council of India Mumbai, Jamiat Ulema Maharashtra Mumbai, etc. have sold some products in the name of religion to the customers of a particular religion. An attempt has been made to increase their sales by providing Halal certificate. Halal certificates are being issued for the production of different goods by deceiving them by taking financial benefits.
Shailendra had claimed in his complaint that Halal certified goods can be seen in the markets across the state, which is a sheer violation of public trust. The standards set by the companies are also not being followed. On the basis of this complaint, the police have registered a case under serious sections and have started further investigation.
Chief Minister himself took cognizance
As soon as the issue of Halal certification came to light, it was given a political colour. Many Hindu leaders are opposing it while on the other hand Maulana is saying it is right. Before the ban, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had taken cognizance of the matter and expressed his displeasure. The Chief Minister has also instructed the officials to take strictest action in this matter.
SP spokesperson said – BJP is giving air to the matter
On this matter, SP spokesperson Fakrul Hasan Chand has said that BJP was not getting any opportunity to convert Hindus to Muslims. Now it has got an opportunity in the form of Halal product. The manner in which a case has been filed by an aware citizen regarding Halal product also shows the double mentality of BJP.
Hindu organization described a new type of jihad
On the other hand, Shishir Chaturvedi, on behalf of All India Hindu Mahasabha, has issued a statement saying that Halal certificate is a kind of new jihad. A huge amount is collected in the name of certificates which is spent on terrorist activities and extremists against the country. He had demanded an immediate ban on it.
