Kasganj. The apprehensions of Kasganj police proved correct. Salma’s murderer turned out to be her husband. He spilled all that out during strict interrogation. He admitted to the police that his wife was hindering his love affairs. Therefore he was put to death.
To save himself, he trapped the young man with whom he had a dispute two days before the incident. The police have also recovered the knife used in the murder at the behest of the husband and he is being arrested and sent to jail.
He was murdered by tying a rope on a cot and slitting his throat.
Last Thursday night in Mohalla Qazi of Sahawar, Salma was murdered in her house by tying her with a rope on a cot and slitting her throat. Her husband was also injured. At that time, the husband had filed a case against Qasim, a resident of Etah Marg in the same town, and his four-five unknown associates.
The police had become suspicious due to the circumstances of the incident site and the presence of Qasim at his home. Not only did he take Qasim into custody and interrogate him, he also called Salma’s husband Murad Mian to the police station after giving first aid and started groping him.
Confessed to murder during police interrogation
According to SP Saurabh Dixit, he broke down during strict interrogation. He told the police that Jamaluddin lives in his neighbourhood. His daughter Sonam is divorced from her husband and she also lives with him. He had become close to Sonam. His wife Salma opposed this. She used to fight every day regarding this. Frustrated with this, he killed his wife.
While he was trying to dispose of the dead body, by then his elder son Alfaiz, who had gone to a neighbor’s wedding procession, had returned. When he knocked on the door, the plans had to be changed.
According to the SP, Murad tied his dead wife to the cot and then injured himself with a knife. He had also wrapped a rope around his hands and legs. When the door was not opened, the son jumped over the wall and came inside. Seeing his parents soaked in blood, he started screaming.
Qasim was saved from going to jail in a false case
If the police had not been suspicious after seeing the circumstances, Qasim might have been jailed in a false case. Based on Murad’s complaint, the police had also registered a case against him at that time. He was also picked up from home and interrogated at Sahawar police station. It was true that even after knowing about his nomination, he did not run away. He faced the questions of the police and kept telling the truth. On the other hand, Murad Mian kept getting into trouble by changing his own statements. In the end he had to confess to the police that he had murdered his wife.
Murad is accused in dowry harassment case
A case of dowry harassment is registered against Murad Mian in Ganjdundwara police station. This case was filed in the year 2005 by the wife of his elder brother Chand Mian. Chand Mian lives in Ganjdundwara. He is having a dispute with his wife. The case is pending in the court. Now Murad’s brother-in-law Babi, resident of Mohalla Kurasiyan, Sahawar has also given an application to the police against him. In this, he has accused Murad of murdering his sister Salma as well as falsely implicating Qasim. Since the police have already made him an accused of murder in the main case and have removed Qasim’s name from it, this application has been kept as evidence.
