Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to find at least 200 acres of land in the open area to build a new and grand Legislative Building in the capital on the lines of the new Parliament House. Several locations have been suggested for the new Legislative Building.
These include the land of the Zoo located in the heart of the city and the land of the Indian Sugarcane Research Complex on Vrindavan Scheme, Sultanpur Road and Rae Bareli Road. The Chief Minister has rejected the proposal to build a new Legislative Building in Darulshafa and surrounding areas.
A presentation regarding the proposal to build a new Legislative Building was made before the Chief Minister on Sunday. It was told that construction of a new Vidhan Bhawan on Darul Shafa and its adjacent land will cause many problems including traffic. Many buildings will have to be demolished.
CM gave instructions to search for land in open space
On this, the Chief Minister directed to search for land in an open place, where there would be no problem in parking and easy transportation. The responsibility of marking the land has been handed over to Lucknow Development Authority. Zoo land is also being considered for the new Vidhan Bhawan.
This land is in the center of the city and near the old Vidhan Bhawan as well as the official residence of the Chief Minister. One end of this land is parallel to Haider Canal on Lohia Road. It is believed that if this land is selected for the construction of the new Vidhan Bhavan, then the main gate of the Vidhan Bhavan can be built on the side facing Lohia Path.
Suggested options in some places
The government is working on a plan to shift Lucknow Zoo to Kukrail forest area. This land will become vacant when the zoo is shifted to Kukrail. Options for some other places have also been suggested for the construction of the new Legislative Building. These include LDA land behind Fun Republic Mall and vacant areas of Sultanpur Road and Vrindavan Scheme.
Yogi Adityanath government wants to build a new legislative building in the capital on the lines of the new Parliament building. The estimated cost of the new Vidhan Bhavan is Rs 3000 crore, but an amount of Rs 50 crore has been allocated for it in the current financial year budget.
it will take three years
The construction of the new Vidhan Bhawan will take three years to complete. The government wants that at least one session of the eighteenth assembly should be held in the new Vidhan Bhavan. The government intends to mark the land quickly and lay the foundation stone of the new Vidhan Sabha on December 25, the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
It is also worth noting that for the construction of the new Legislative Building, the work of examining the soil of some other places including Darul Shafa was started recently. For this, before starting the construction work by appointing a consultant, the soil was being tested from KBM Engineering Research Laboratory.
