On Friday itself, a group of students had come to drink tea at the tea stall in front of gate number five of the university. Meanwhile, another group reached there and within no time, kicking and punching started between the two groups. Within no time both the groups started attacking each other, waving illegal weapons. During this, someone’s head got injured and someone got seriously injured in his hands and legs.
It is being told that the police was also present on the spot, but the police also remained a spectator for a long time. It is being told that during this time someone made a video of the incident and posted it on social media. Some people also called the police control room. After this the police came into action and intervened and separated both the parties. After the police calmed down the matter, some students were scolded and sent to the hostel. Some students have been taken into custody and taken to the police station.
The police had just reached the police station with these students when hundreds of students came out of the university and reached outside the police station and started creating ruckus. Seeing the situation going out of control, the police and PAC together used mild force on the rioting students and chased them away. On the other hand, after the matter came to his notice, the registrar of the university has suspended Priyanshu Mishra, the economics student involved in the incident.
