Meerut. The government has given permission to file the charge sheet in the court against former minister Yakub Qureshi in the case of announcement of a reward of Rs 51 crore for beheading a Danish cartoonist. Recently former minister Yakub has got bail from jail.
Former minister Yakub Qureshi, resident of Sarai Bahlim of Kotwali, had given this controversial statement in a meeting organized at Faiz-e-Aam Inter College on 17 February 2006. BJP leader and former Labor Welfare Board Chairman Sunil Bharala had filed a report against Yakub at Delhi Gate police station on August 8, 2007.
Permission was sought to prepare the case diary again
The police had sought permission from the government to file a charge sheet in this case. The case diary sent to the government was lost. After this, the police once again prepared a case diary and sought permission from the government.
CO Kotwali Amit Kumar Rai said that the government has given permission to file the charge sheet. The charge sheet will be filed in the court in the next two days. Former minister on bail from jail in gangster and fraud cases On March 31, 2022, the police had registered a case against 17 people including Yakub and his two sons Imran and Firoz for illegally running a meat factory.
Yakub Qureshi is out on bail
After this, in November, the police registered a gangster case against seven people including Yakub, Imran and Firoz. On January 7, Yakub and Imran went to jail, while on August 28, Yakub got bail from the High Court.
