New Delhi. Marnus Labuschagne’s century pulled Australia out of trouble on a rain-affected fourth day of the fourth Ashes Test. The day’s play ended early due to rain. At stumps, Australia scored 214 for five in their second innings, trailing England by 61 runs. Mitchell Marsh 31 and Cameron Green were present at the crease after scoring three runs.
The first session of the fourth day was affected by rain and lunch was declared without a single ball being played. Labushen, along with Marsh, handled the Australian innings when the match resumed after the rain stopped. Australia started playing ahead of 113 runs for 4 wickets on the fourth day and Labushen played with restraint.
Labushen scored the first Ashes century
Labushen continued to take his innings forward and he got Australia out of trouble. Labushen completed his 11th Test century on the last ball of the 63rd over. After this, he accelerated the run rate and hit the root for a four. At the other end, Marsh also played well with him and both completed a 103-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Root ended the partnership between Marsh and Labushen. He brought a sigh of relief to England by dismissing Labushen. Labushen returned to the pavilion after scoring 111 runs. This is his first century in the Ashes series. However, rain again interrupted the match during the tea break, which completely washed out the third session and forced an early end to the match.
