In Uttar Pradesh, a woman was strangled to death in Ghunghter area of Barabanki district while sleeping on the terrace. Police sources said on Tuesday that Rampal, a resident of Baharpara village, had gone to a marriage ceremony organized by a relative last night, while two children present at home had gone to a wedding organized in the village. Rampal’s wife Ramakanti (38) was alone at home. When Rampal came back at around one o’clock in the night, he found the door locked. Meanwhile both his children also came. When the door did not open, Rampal slept with the children on the cot lying in front of the door.

According to the information received, when he woke up at around five in the morning and still the door did not open, he climbed from the back wall and reached the terrace. Seeing the dead body of wife Ramakanti on the terrace, he screamed. Till then a crowd of villagers had gathered. After getting the information, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh and the force of many police stations reached the spot. Dog squad and field unit also reached the spot and investigated. Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh said that the murder took place by slitting the throat with a sharp weapon. Some leads have been found which are being worked upon. The incident will be revealed soon.
