Prayagraj: In the famous Gyanvapi episode of Uttar Pradesh, the Allahabad High Court has rejected the petition of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, in which the committee had said that the case related to regular worship of Shringar Gauri from the Hindu side was not maintainable. .
Allahabad High Court Justice JJ Munir, while hearing the petition, dismissed it. The High Court has given permission to extend the hearing of the case to the lower court.
It may be known that Rakhi Singh and nine other women had filed a civil suit in the district court of Varanasi demanding the right to regular worship of Shringar Gauri located in the Gyanvapi campus of Varanasi. On this, the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee had filed an application objecting to the maintainability of the suit that the court does not have the right to hear the suit under the provisions of the Places of Worship Act, 1991.
However, the district court rejected the committee’s application and the decision was reserved in December. After the district court rejected the application, the committee challenged the district court’s decision in the High Court.
Significantly, several petitions related to the Gyanvapi episode are pending in various courts. Some cases are also pending in the High Court. The Supreme Court is also monitoring the Maa Shringar Gauri episode.
