New Delhi. There is no end in sight for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023. England fast bowler Reece Topley has been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to a shoulder injury. The road to winning the title has become difficult for RCB as Topli became the third player to be ruled out of the ongoing IPL.
Will Jacques and Rajat Patidar are out of the tournament before Reece Topley. RCB head coach Sanjay Bangar confirmed during the match against KKR on Thursday that Reece Topley has returned home as he will not be able to take further part in the tournament. RCB bought Topli for Rs 1.9 crore. Topli’s base price was Rs 75 lakhs and Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings had also shown interest in buying him.
Topley troubled by injury
Sanjay Bangar said, ‘Unfortunately, Reece had to return home as he has been ruled out of the tournament. We tried our best to keep him together, but treatment and experts advised that he would be out of action for some time. Reece Topley’s replacement will be announced soon.
Reece Topley’s career was troubled by injuries. Recently, he was ruled out of the T20 World Cup as he injured his heel before the warm-up match. Apart from this, he remained out of many series due to injury.
Two strong players will join RCB
Sanjay Bangar has also confirmed that Vanindu Hasaranga and Josh Hazlewood will join the RCB squad by April 10 and 14 respectively. RCB has to play their next match against Lucknow on 10th April. Bangar expressed hope that the team will get the services of Hasranga in this match.
RCB head coach said, ‘Hasranga will join us on 10 April. The timing of his arrival will depend on whether he will be available for the match or not. But meanwhile, Karn Sharma took advantage of his opportunity and has increased the headache for us for selection. Hazlewood has recovered from his injury and may be available for the match against CSK on 17th April.
