It is alleged that the jail staff put a jail stamp on the cheek of a four-year-old boy who was going to meet his brother. However, the jail administration has categorically denied this. Jail administration says that the hand of all the family members who come to meet the prisoners in the jail is stamped, the hand of the child is also stamped. On the other hand, after the complaint, the police have said that the investigation of the matter is going on.
Lakhimpur Kheri Jail Superintendent Vipin Mishra told about the mark found on the cheek of a 4-year-old girl who went to meet her brother in Lakhimpur Kheri jail, “People who meet prisoners are stamped so that prisoners and relatives do not meet. The gatekeeper told that the hand was stamped. Action will be taken against whoever is guilty.”
Jail administration said, the child must have made a mistake
The Jail Superintendent further said that it is also possible that the child may have touched his cheek with his sealed hand and his face was stained with the wet mark. The jail superintendent said, “We will look into the matter. We are in the process of taking the statement of the child. If it is found that the face of the child has been deliberately stamped, strict action will be taken.”
Yogesh, a child living in Bhagautipur village, had come with his grandmother on Friday to meet his cousin who was lodged in the district jail.
