Banda: In Delhi, five drug-addicted youths dragged a girl riding a scooty and took her for about 13 km, in which she died. A similar incident took place in Banda district of UP on Wednesday evening. A high speed ballast laden trala dragged the scooty rider woman for about three and a half km. After the fire broke out in the trolley, the driver and the helper did not stop and seeing the people chasing them, increased the speed and after about three and a half km the trolley ran away when the flames got high.
The incident took place near the Agricultural University gate and the flames started rising from the Mawai bypass intersection. The force and two fire engines of several police stations reached, after which the fire could be extinguished after about a quarter of an hour. But by then the woman was burnt alive. ASP Lakshmi Niwas Mishra told that a fire broke out due to the dragging of Trala’s scooty and the woman died.
According to the information, 35-year-old Pushpa’s wife late in Banda Agricultural University. Ranjit Singh was working on the post of junior clerk. She had gone out on Wednesday evening to buy vegetables from scooty and get petrol filled. She had got a job in place of her husband under the deceased dependent quota.
Pushpa Devi, a resident of Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar, got out of her scooty after the holiday. Just then, on the bypass in front of the gate, the high speed trolley coming from Kabrai’s side came under the grip of ballast. When people made noise and chased, the driver instead of stopping started driving away fast.
While running towards Kanpur, flames started coming out from under the cabin near Mawai bypass intersection in Trala. The clerks were also trapped in the flames arising from the rubbing of the scooty. About three and a half kms. After dragging till, the driver and the helper ran away by erecting a trolley.
It was a matter of luck that the petrol pump did not come under the grip
There is a petrol pump on the other side from where the trolley was stopped. People could not muster the courage to approach in front of the raging flames. Meanwhile, ASP, CO City Ambuja Trivedi, Kotwal Shyam Babu Shukla and the force of the posts reached the nearby police stations. Two fire engines reached to douse the fire. It was a matter of pride that the flames could not take the petrol pump in its grip. The fire could be extinguished after about a quarter of an hour.
Tire burst with explosion, people fled
The front part of the trala was completely gutted in the fire. His tires started exploding, seeing this there was a stampede among the people. The clerk was burnt alive.
Husband died in 2020
Ranjit Singh, posted in the university, died in 2020 due to cancer and infection during the Corona period, Pushpa got a job in his place. According to eyewitnesses, the speeding driver overtook the scooty, when Pushpa got trapped along with the scooty. On making noise, instead of stopping, the driver started running.
Have demanded for breaker many times
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, University PRO BK Gupta said that the university administration had demanded several times to make breakers, but the district administration did not pay any attention. Students and staff leave the gate and come directly to the bypass. Pushpa’s six-year-old and two-year-old children live with relatives in Lucknow, while she used to live in a campus residence.
