New Delhi. India on Tuesday registered their third consecutive win by defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets in the third T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. After winning the toss, India decided to bowl first. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 166 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, India won the match by scoring 167 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 13.1 overs.
India won the toss. The bowlers proved this decision of captain Ajay Kumar Reddy right. India got off to a flying start by dismissing Bangladesh openers Salman and Abid in the space of three overs. Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman and Mohammad Arif handled their team’s innings.
84-run partnership for the third wicket
Both added 84 runs for the third wicket. This partnership was broken in the 13th over when Arif was run out after scoring 33 runs in one ball. Ashiqur Rahman then combined with Tanzil to get the team’s score board going. The pair put on a total of 166 runs with a 61-run partnership, batting till the end of the innings.
Ashiqur Rahman was dismissed on the last ball of the innings after scoring 75 runs in 53 balls. Tanzil remained unbeaten on 20 runs. In reply, Indian openers T Durga Rao and Nakul Badnaik got off to a brisk start and scored 95 runs in 8.3 overs.
India won in 13.1 overs
Nakul got out after scoring 36 runs in 24 balls. Durga Rao (73) continued to score runs at a brisk pace. India were just 15 runs away from the target when he retired in the 12th over. Captain Ajay Kumar Reddy and Sunil Ramesh completed the match in 13.1 overs without any trouble.
