New Delhi. Bollywood veteran actor Jackie Shroff, who has proved his acting prowess with films like Karma, Ram Lakhan, is in limelight these days for his upcoming project. Now in an interview, he has revealed about Jaikishan keeping his name Jackie.
According to Bollywood Hungama, when the actor was asked how he got his name Jackie, he said, “I had a friend in school who came from Hong Kong or Dubai and used to have a lot of trouble pronouncing my name as Jaikishan.” Due to which he started calling me Jackie and from there my name was Jackie. Although my name kept changing many times even later, but then everyone started speaking only Jackie.
I have many names
In the same interview, he further said, my mother used to call me Jaggu and my father used to call me Jaikishan… but my friends used to call me Jaggu Dad… some used to call me Jai, some used to call me Kishan, I have many names. He used to call me whatever he wanted.
Debut from Subhash Ghai’s film
Let us tell you that Jackie Shroff started his acting career with Dev Anand Sahab’s film Swami Dada. He played a small role in this film, but he worked as a lead actor in the 1983 film Hero. Jackie’s debut film is directed by Subhash Ghai. After this he never looked back and worked in back-to-back hit films. Has worked in many superhit films in a career spanning over 4 decades, including films like Hero, Parinda, Gardish, Khalnayak, A Love Story, Rangeela, Agnisakshi, Mission Kashmir, Yaadein.
