Rashid Naseem, the chief director of Shine City Infra Project Pvt Ltd, who ran away after swindling crores of rupees from the investors, had cleverly done the work of erasing and hiding the evidence against him. In the year 2018, when the investors were filing lawsuits against the Shine City operators, several laptops and mobile phones of the company were hidden in the farm house of Bachhrawan (Rae Bareilly). The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) found the farm house after a long investigation.
The investigating agency raided and recovered three laptops, an iPad and several mobile phones kept hidden in a room of the farm house. Apart from this, many documents have also been recovered. According to DG EOW RK Vishwakarma, all the recovered instruments have been sent to Forensic Science Lab for testing. With this, strong electronic evidence can also be gathered against the company operators. The data from these devices will reveal more layers of fraud perpetrated by Shine City.
The EOW raided Mehtab’s farm house in Bachhrawan. Officials say that Mehtab is connected to the operators of Shine City. Whether any case is registered against him in the Shine City episode or not, it is being ascertained.
The High Court had also directed to collect electronic evidence against the accused in the Shine City case. Since then, the investigating agencies were trying to find out about the electronic devices hidden by the company operators. In the investigation of these devices, it is expected to get information about many other properties of Shine City operators.
It is notable that on the directions of the High Court, EOW, Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) and ED are jointly probing the Shine City episode. In the past, ED had also seized many properties of Shine City. His target is the assets of the company operators worth Rs 150 crore. The main accused Rashid Naseem had fled to Dubai via Nepal and is now doing diamond business sitting there. Investigating agencies are trying to extradite him.
