New Delhi. Australia has announced a 16-man squad for its last T20 series before the T20 World Cup. David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Marsh have returned to this team. These four players were not present in the 3 T20 match series against India and the team wants to try them before the World Cup. David Warner was rested for the tour of India while the other three players were not included in the tour due to minor injuries. But before the World Cup, these players have been included in the two-match T20 series against West Indies.
Even in the absence of these players on the India tour, the team performed brilliantly. Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade in particular found their form on this tour.
In this 16-man squad, Cameron Green, who has been batting brilliantly against India, has been given a chance. Green was the highest run-scorer for Australia in the series against India. He played two half-centuries while batting the opening. Fast bowler Kane Richardson and spin bowler Ashton Agar have been rested in this team against West Indies.
On this occasion, National Selection Chief George Bailey has said that we are taking a cautious approach in view of the World Cup. We are hopeful that Kane and Aston will return in the next series against England. After playing the two-match series against the West Indies on October 5 and 7, Australia will play a three-match T20I series against England in Perth and Canberra.
