Kanpur. Amit, accused of the famous Jyoti Mishra case, was burnt alive in the same way as Jyoti’s body was recovered from the side of the railway track. On Sunday morning, a half-burnt and mutilated body of a youth was found on the side of Bhimsen Road located in Sachendi police station area. The deceased was identified as Amit Kumar from the bike parked near the dead body.
In Jyoti Mishra’s case, relatives were alleging murder, but after a long investigation, the police filed a chargesheet in the court, terming the case a suicide. After getting information about the murder, the team of field unit inspected the spot and collected evidence.
On the other hand, Amit’s relatives are now accusing Jyoti’s father and brother of murder out of revenge. Police has started investigating the matter.
Amit, 30-year-old son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Shiv Katra Harijan Basti of Chakeri, used to work as RO service. On Sunday morning, Amit’s half-burnt body was found lying in the bushes near Bhailamau village on Bhimsen Road in Sachendi in a mutilated condition.
After the murder of Amit, an attempt was made to burn his body with acid or any inflammable substance, due to which the lower part of the waist was completely mutilated. Sachendi police station in-charge Praduman Singh said that the body has been identified on the basis of the bike number. All the points related to the incident are being thoroughly investigated. Soon the accused involved in the incident will be arrested and legal action will be taken.

Jyoti Mishra, 23-year-old daughter of private worker Santosh Mishra, resident of Girija Nagar, Chakeri, used to work as a telecaller in a consultancy in Shivkatra. She went to duty on 22 October 2021. When she did not return home as usual, her relatives lodged a missing complaint at Chakeri police station.
After this, on the morning of 23 October, the half-burnt body of Jyoti was found on the side of the railway track located in Bhabha Nagar. After the incident, the victim’s father Santosh Mishra had filed a case against Amit and his girlfriend Vimal accusing him of kidnapping and killing the daughter and destroying the evidence.
On the basis of the registered case, the police arrested Amit and his girlfriend Vimal for the murder of Jyoti and sent them to jail. However, after a long investigation, the police had filed a charge sheet in the court, terming Jyoti’s death not a murder but a suicide.
Accused on Jyoti’s father and brother: Amit’s father Ashok Kumar has accused Jyoti’s father and brother of being involved in the murder of his son in a conversation with journalists at the post-mortem house. It is alleged that his son was burnt to death after being kidnapped. Since Jyoti’s relatives suspected that her son was involved in her death, the son was murdered in the same manner as Jyoti’s body was found.
