Lucknow. The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is soon going to form a Senior Citizens Welfare Fund for the safety, respect and better health of the elderly. This fund will be set up with Rs.5 crore. Through this, full care of the elderly will be taken care of. The government will comprehensively improve the quality of old age homes so that senior citizens living in these homes do not face any kind of problem.
Under the chairmanship of Social Welfare Minister Aseem Arun, it was decided in the meeting of the State Council of Senior Citizens that soon a proposal for Senior Citizens Welfare Fund would be prepared and sent to the government.
The Minister said that such old people living in old age homes who have been deprived of their rights by their dependents and they want to go back to their homes, such elderly people will be sent home with the help of Deputy District Magistrate and Police. The government will give them back their rights and rights.
The Social Welfare Minister said that a list of old age homes across the state would be prepared and uploaded on the website. With this, the problems of old age homes will be easily resolved, as well as any needy will be able to easily get information about the ashrams near them.
He said that elders can inform about any problem on the Elder Helpline number 14567 operated by the Social Welfare Department, which will be resolved soon.
If any old person has pension related problem then they can also register their complaint on Elder helpline number. Apart from Social Welfare Director Rakesh Kumar, other officers of Health, Police, Transport, Rural Development, Finance Department participated in the meeting.
Social Welfare Minister Aseem Arun informed that two committees will be constituted under the chairmanship of Social Welfare Officer Anamika Singh to improve the quality of old age homes. Each committee will have five members. In this, along with government officials, representatives of voluntary organizations will also be there.
These committees will also give suggestions to solve the problems of old age homes. He said that proper health facilities would be made available at nearby health centers to provide better health facilities to the elderly living in old age homes.
